About the service
How to easily switch from Prestashop to Upgates?
You can switch from Prestashop yourself if you have the necessary experience and knowledge. Alternatively, you can use the services of our partners who specialize in migrations from Prestashop. You can find the offer of our partners below.
Steps to Migration to Upgates
- If you are going to carry out the migration yourself, the first step is to create a test e-shop on Upgates.
- Export the data you want to transfer from your original solution according to the provider’s instructions.
- Alternatively, prepare feeds from your suppliers.
- You can then upload the data to Upgates via import (more details here), but the content must be formatted correctly according to our documentation.
Data can be uploaded to Upgates using API, XML or CSV.
If you do not have experience in this area, we recommend contacting one of our partners who specialize in migrations from other solutions.. When contacting them, inform them of the system you are migrationing from, what data you can extract from it (if known), and agree on the terms and cost of the project. The project can be either partial or turnkey.
Typically, the following data is transferred:
- Categories
- Products (including images, descriptions, stock statuses, related products, etc.)
- Customers
- URL redirects
- Articles and news
- Orders
Then, you just need to fine-tune the e-shop settings, including payment methods, shipping, etc., complete the e-shop design, and connect to third-party services.
Are you done? Yes! In that case, you are ready to switch to the live domain!
Until you switch to the live domain, the e-shop will run on the test domain upgates.com. Changing the solution will not cause any downtime for the e-shop, and you will not lose customers or any orders.
